Account credit now shows up and gets used automatically
Clients can see the credit on their account and it is applied to a purchase automatically, instead of sitting unused until someone asks staff for help.
When a client redeems a gift card, or you top up their account, or a refund comes back as credit, that money lives on their account with you. Until now it was almost invisible: it never appeared in their account area, and at checkout it was only used if the client found and ticked the right control. Most people never did. One client this week could see that she had been given a gift, could not work out how to spend it, and phoned the studio so a staff member could apply it at the desk for her. Two things changed. **They can see it.** The balance now appears in the account area on your website and in the apps, with the amount stated plainly. If part of it is tied up in a checkout the client has open, the figure shown is what they can actually spend right now — never a larger number that would fail at the till. **It gets used by itself.** Credit is applied automatically to a purchase, and the amount is shown before payment, so the client sees "475 kr credit will be used" and a reduced total rather than a surprise. They can still choose to use none of it, or only part of it, if they would rather save it. If the credit covers the whole price there is nothing left to pay. One limit worth knowing: this covers one-off purchases — drop-ins, class passes, clip cards. A recurring membership's next monthly charge is collected by our payment provider on its own schedule and cannot take account credit yet. Those renewals are charged in full as before, and a client buying a recurring membership is told plainly that their credit does not apply to it rather than being blocked. That gap is specified and queued. Nothing about how credit is recorded has changed, so your books and existing balances are exactly as they were.
