Refund a gift card from Today's sales
A gift-card sale in Today's sales has a Refund button again. It returns the money to the buyer's original online payment and removes the refunded value from the card, so it can't be spent afterwards. A gifted pass is always refunded in full.
A gift card bought online showed up in Today's sales, but opening the sale offered no way to refund it. Expand the gift-card sale and choose **Refund gift card**. The same refund is on the gift card's own page (Gift cards → the card's code). - **Where the money goes.** Back to the online payment the buyer used for the gift card. - **What happens to the card.** The refunded amount is removed from the card at the same moment, so it can no longer be spent. Refunding everything that is still unused cancels the card. A partly used card can only be refunded up to what is still unused. - **Gifted passes.** A gift of a pass (for example a 5-class card) is refunded in full or not at all, and refunding it cancels the gift so it can't be redeemed. - **Who can refund.** Owners and Finance staff who can refund any amount. For safety you confirm with the 6-digit code from your authenticator app. If you haven't set up two-factor sign-in yet, the refund shows a link to Settings → Security. - **The buyer is not notified.** Gift-card refunds don't send the buyer a receipt yet, so let them know yourself if needed. - **When a card can't be refunded here**, the sale says why — for example when the gift was already redeemed or the card was paid at the desk instead of online. Today's sales now also says who sold each gift card and how it was paid — for example "Guest checkout · Paid online" instead of "Sale origin not recorded".
