Membership reservations complete correctly when nothing is due today
Saved-card membership purchases with a free period or a future start now confirm their reserved place before reporting completion. Future memberships keep their scheduled start date.
When a membership has nothing to charge today and the client already has a saved card, checkout now confirms the offer reservation as part of completing the purchase. Free periods grant access immediately; future memberships keep their scheduled activation date. If the reservation has expired, checkout asks the client to contact the venue. If confirmation is temporarily unavailable, the purchase remains unfinished instead of showing a success message. This completion step creates no new charge. Opening a completed checkout again preserves the membership’s current state, including a later activation, pause or termination.

A new card now really replaces the old one on a failed membership payment
When a membership renewal fails and a member (or you) picks or adds another card, that card is now the one the membership charges — this time and every month after. Retries no longer hit the old card, and a payment that Stripe had closed no longer ends in "try again later".
